Gold Panning Advice
A little suggestion for the novice panner who has not yet learned.
Don't leave your gold pan out full of fines in the heat of the summer for two many days. Inevitably the damn cat will find it and salt the mine. This is not a good thing, trust me. |
Re: Gold Panning Advice
That's a good one Curtman. I've left concentrates sit by the panning but never though about cats. Maybe at times I've screened out some big things I didn't notice?
Another good tip is to save separated-out magnetite and other black sand cons after the colors have been recovered. Spread 'em out around the wifes rose bushes...she'll love the results. Might even bake you an apple! |
Re: Gold Panning Advice
Sorry....ment to say I've left cons sitting by my panning tank.

Curtman-
Are you going to be in Nevada yet this summer? Previous offer still open! |
Re: Gold Panning Advice
They must...but there are usually several core minerals in cons.

Salted with #1 or #2
That is the funniest warning I've ever heard. You have a good night all going to bed. E-A |

Re: Gold Panning Advice
Back in the late '70's and early 80's when fur prices were good, buyers were paying $1.00 for a multi-colored cat hide, and $3.00 for a solid color.
I sold a lot of hides but never one from a cat. |
